A good example of setting up a security camera system well and the positioning would be along the lines of:- you have one camera which is for example in a large kitchen area with three of four windows and a door, then you would not want a camera pointing at the door and all the windows, it would be better to have one camera in the corner of the room that can pickup anyone who is in the room.  Another example maybe you may also wish to have a camera which is positioned to view the stairway, this will then pickup anyone moving from floor to floor and so on.  Think about the layout of your house or business, draw up a floor plan or a scale drawing and put down your potential areas on the drawing, this can aid you when you are planning the layout.

Usually the planning stage of setting up surveillance cameras can be the most daunting, once this has been completed then the rest of the work is a straightforward process.  Many homeowners are setting up security camera systems quickly and easily using their home pc setup.  This is a very cost effective and easy way to secure your premises, all that is required would be a pc, webcam or ip camera and some surveillance software.  That is how easy it can be to setup your security camera system.  They can even pickup noise and motion and alert you if anything untoward appears to be happening.  There are many forms of security camera systems and choosing the right one for you will depend upon your requirements and how robust you would like the system.  There are good options available for personal and business at different levels of security and cost.
