After a long and unwinding discussion with my youngest son, he has finally relented to give away his old Out Of This World Toddler Bedset. I have been trying to convince him for weeks and each time, he would cry about it. It’s not that he still likes to use the sheets, it’s actually just sitting inside the cabinet. I think it’s more because he hasn’t grasped the concept of letting go of some of his things yet.
We no longer need the sheets as this won’t fit any of the mattresses in the house anymore, and it won’t certainly fit his, which is a new one. A friend of mine suggested we could make use of the sheets and turn them to pillow cases, but since the item has been used for years, its colors are already fading. It really was time to give it away to the Salvation Army.
What finally convinced my youngest was when his oldest brother told him he would be getting new sheets. I tried selling the idea to him before but he wouldn’t listen. Somehow he listened to his big brother, and that was indeed a big help for me.
We’re sheet shopping this weekend and the little one gets a free reign on choosing one print for his.
